Truma Combi Slow Heating on Electric? Replace the Elements, Not the Heat Exchanger

Did you know that slow or failed failed electric heating does not require a complete heat exchanger replacement, or a new combi heater?

If your Truma combi is taking up to 30 minutes to heat your hot water on electric mode then most likely one of the two electric elements has failed, with the second element not far behind it, and there is a cost-effective option to replace these.

Thermo Technica supplies the correct specification 390mm, 2 × 900W element pair for compatible Truma Combi heaters – 2E, 4E, 6E, D4E and D6E.

Specifically Manufactured for Truma Combi Heaters

Our Combi heating elements are specifically manufactured as direct-fit aftermarket replacements.

They fit selected Truma Combi 2E, 4E, 6E, D4E and D6E variants. Each pair contains two 900W elements measuring the correct 390mm length.

Four rubber grommets are also available with the complete element and grommet option.

These grommets seat the elements where the mains connections are made. However, the original Truma grommets frequently outlast the elements. Therefore, replacements are optional and may not be required.

Understanding the Truma Part Numbers

Several different codes now appear online:

  • 34020-61100 – the original Truma heating element code, previously supplied as a pair of 2 × 900W elements.
  • 34020-01300 – a commonly used aftermarket or equivalent reference. It is not the original Truma element code.
  • 34020-00228 – the previous Combi E element replacement kit, now superseded by 34020-00228UK.

Truma now supplies the 34020-00228UK Combi heat exchanger kit instead of offering the element pair separately.

That genuine kit costs nearly £500. Consequently, customers may reasonably ask why they must replace a complete heat exchanger when only the elements have failed.

A Practical, Exact-Spec Alternative

Thermo Technica supplies the correct-specification element pair to:

  • Skilled caravan and motorhome owners
  • Truma-trained caravan and motorhome engineers
  • Major workshops and dealership forecourts
  • Approved trade resellers

Our 390mm Combi heating elements are available only through the Thermo Technica website, our eBay store and approved trade resellers.

Installation involves mains electricity. Therefore, only someone with the required skills and competence should complete the repair.
